Missouri Teacher Certification or Substitute Teacher Certification

Athletic Director/Building Principal
SUPERVISES:
20-40 cheerleaders
JOB GOAL:
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill and the value of discipline and
sportsmanship as well as an increased level of self-esteem.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
- Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
- Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
- Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
- Oversee the safety condition of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
- Establish performance criteria for eligibility to perform at interscholastic competition in the coach’s sport.
- Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times. Establish and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
- Oversee and delegate responsibilities for student managers.
DURATION OF POSITION:
August 20 – October 17 (volleyball and football); November 7 – January 31 (girls/boys basketball)

APPROXIMATE HOURS SCHEDULED FOR ACTIVITY:
Practice schedule (volleyball/football – M-F – 3 p.m. –5:30 p.m.) = 86 hours
Games (volleyball/football - 6 games – 3 p.m. 7 p.m.) = 24 hours
Practice schedule (basketball – M-F – 3 p.m. –5 p.m. = 90 hours
Games (basketball – 10 games – 3 p.m.-6:30 p.m.) = 35 hours
Fundraisers = 10 hours
TOTAL HOURS: 245 |
