TITLE: PRINCIPAL

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess or is eligible for Missouri Administrative Certification
2. Minimum three years administrative experience
3. Strong instructional leadership, collaborative, organizational, and oral and written communication skills

4. Knowledgeable of the research on best intsrtuctional practicies and processes for effective implementation

5.  Ability to design and implement data driven school improvement planning framework

6.  Ability to work productively and positively with district staff, students, parents and patrons

7.  Strong motivational skills

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

1.  Education Specialist Degree

2.  Minimum 5 years administrative experience with at least 3 years at the appropriate level for the position

REPORTS TO:
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

SUPERVISES:
Directly or indirectly, all building personnel

JOB GOAL:

13. Initiate, design, and implement programs to meet specific needs of the school.
14. Make recommendations concerning the school’s administration and instruction.
15. Prepare and manage the school budget.
16. Supervise the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
17. Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the school’s administration.
18. Work with various members of the central administrative staff on problems involving support services, such as transportation and special services.
19. Keep supervisor informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the supervisor’s accountability.
20. Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations by the school’s staff and students.
21. Maintain active relationships with students and parents.
22. Lead in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring of the instructional program.
23. Schedule classes within established guidelines to meet student needs (applicable to Secondary level).
24. Establish guides for proper student conduct and maintaining student discipline.
25. Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
26. Assume responsibility for the attendance, conduct, safety and health of students.
27. Supervise all professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and support personnel attached to the school.
28. Assist in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s staff.
29. Evaluate and counsel all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
30. Conduct meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
31. Provide for adequate inventories of school property and for the security and accountability for the property.
32. Supervise all activities and programs that are outgrowths of the school’s curriculum.
33. Supervise and evaluate the school’s extracurricular program.
34. Participate in principals’ meetings, negotiations meetings, and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
35. Other related duties as assigned.
