QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters' Degree
- Must hold School Counselor and/or LPC certification and Missouri Teachers' certification.
- Must have experience providing individual and group therapy to students with severe emotional and behavioral problems.
- Experience working with outside agencies such as residential and Day Treatment Programs, DFS, DYS, Community Mental Health Agencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with a diverse student population
- Understands and can demonstrate the research on best practices for teaching and learning
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work collaboratively as an active team member with CAIR staff and administration.
- Provide individual and group therapy with regard to school-based issues, social skill issues, and emotional issues for at-risk students.
- Coordinate and provide services within the Recovery Room for students in crisis.
- Facilitate Missouri Options Program
- Collect data on individual student’s behavior and provide weekly reports to SST.
- Work collaboratively with district social worker with caseloads and crisis interventions.
- Develop behavioral interventions for teachers to use in classrooms to decrease inappropriate student behavior.
- Act as resource support to teachers with individual and/or groups of students regarding behavioral issues.
- Work with district social worker to develop, seek, and secure wrap around services for students and families.
- Work closely with outside agencies to provide seamless services to students.
- Serve on CAIR committees.
- Attend daily staff meetings.
- Provide written reports as needed to Special Services Department and building principals regarding students.
- Other duties deemed necessary by building administrators and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.
