QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

JOB GOAL:
To complete the detail and written work and to coordinate other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the guidance counselors.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enrolls and/or schedules new students and coordinates schedule changes.
- Schedule appointments for counselors.
- May coordinate special counseling programs and/or assist counselors with various testing programs.
- Maintain student records and protects the confidentiality of these records.
- Maintain a regular filing system, as well as a set of locked confidential files.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties including place and receive telephone calls, greeting visitors, order and maintain supplies, operate computers, calculators, copiers, and facsimile machines and process incoming correspondence as instructed.
- Perform and bookkeeping task associated with the specific position.
- Assists the counselor with registration and orientation of new students.
- Assists the counselor with coordinating and processing pre-enrollment data.
- Prepares and maintains a list of school or community activities in which students are eligible for participation.
- Obtains and disseminates occupational and college information to students.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by building administrators.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
