NOTE: This position is for the 2025-2026 school year. The salary will be based on the 2025-2026 salary schedule which is not yet approved by the Board of Education. The salary listed is based on the current year's salary schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Valid Missouri Teaching certification in Special Reading Grades 9-12
- Prior teaching experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
JOB GOAL:
To provide additional support to students in an effort to enhance and improve their reading skills
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet regularly with the building principal to inform him/her of student reading progress and strategies used.
- Provide both pull-out and push-in reading instruction to students needing additional support through use of district-provided resources.
- Lead the school-based Reading Success Plan team and process, according to state mandates for specific at-risk students, in collaboration with the building principal.
- Facilitate the Literacy Task assessment(s) for qualifying students and enter data into the testing platform.
- Participate in the district wide English Language Arts program to promote continuity and consistency in implementing the curriculum and instruction program.
- Keep abreast of current research and best practices.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and/or the building principal.
