QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. High School diploma and some post-secondary education
  2. Five or more years as secretary to an executive
  3. Strong computer and internet skills including proficiency in MS Office
  4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
  7. Ability to work well and communicate with administrators, staff, parents, vendors and patrons of the district
  8. Such alternatives to the above as the Assistant Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

      Assistant Superintendent-Human Resources

 

JOB GOAL: 

      To complete the detail and written work and to coordinate other matters essential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Perform general clerical duties and provide administrative support for Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Duties may include but not limited to screening calls, managing calendar, arrange meetings and events, preparing reports, process correspondence, receiving and assisting visitors.
  2. Provide general support as related to employment matters for C-4 employees, applicants, and vendors
  3. Produce and distribute correspondence, memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
  4. Maintain confidential Human Resources records and database including personnel records, background check records, and medical records.
  5. Assist with the recruitment/hiring process including but not limited to develop and update job description, posting job openings via online application system and outside resources, screening applications, arranging interviews, on boarding of new hires, administering employment assessments
  6. Facilitate Family Medical Leave (FMLA) benefit including educating district staff, processing request, tracking usage, maintain filing system
  7. Order and maintain supplies as needed.
  8. Perform bookkeeping functions as assigned
  9. Keep abreast of employment laws, school board policies/procedures as related to Human Resources and provide guidance to district employees as related to such
  10. Operate word processors, computers, calculators, copiers and facsimile machines
  11. Create and publish annual district personnel directory; maintain current information
  12. Process request for student teacher and internship assignments; maintain file of placement assignments
  13. Assist with the processing and placement of students for intra-district transfer; maintain spreadsheet of approved transfer/placements; correspond with parents as necessary regarding placement
  14. Develop and maintain hiring/seniority list of Certified and Support employees for the purpose of tracking and reporting annual evaluation cycle
  15. Perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 Twelve-month year, 7.5 hours per day

 

FLSA:  Non-Exempt
