QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
- Registered and certificated by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
- At least 1-2 years experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Effective behavior management skills.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
7 hours per day, 3 days per week (112 Days per year)
JOB GOAL:
Assume responsibility for direct therapy and consulting activities for students requiring occupational therapy as required by governing rules and regulations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop motor activities based on the student’s individual needs.
- Provide direction in developing needed activities in the areas of : sensory integration, gross and fine motor.
- Provide direction in screening motor needs of students suspected of needing occupational therapy.
- Act as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation/reevaluation team for students suspected of needing occupational therapy.
- Provide direction in assessment instruments/techniques to evaluate student sensory integration and motor needs.
- Acts as resource to district special education staff in the awareness and implementation of occupational therapy evaluation and programming.
- Attend IEP meetings on an as needed basis for students being considered for occupational therapy services.
- Communicates with staff and parents on individual student progress.
- Oversees the supervision of the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Director of Special Services may assign.
