Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.

Graduate Degree or other advanced education degree in Social Work preferred.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed to assist students or support safety interventions.

Ability to successfully implement Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) strategies/techniques in accordance with district training and guidelines.

Build relationships with students; foster student-to-student community connections and student-to-teacher relationships.

Assist teachers in managing students whose behavior is out of control to maintain a calm school environment and ensure student success.

Communicate with a variety of personnel (e.g., students, parents, teachers, administration, other staff) to express concerns, resolve issues, and develop plans for student success.

Intervene with students exhibiting chronic behavioral issues to de-escalate crises, process incidents, teach alternative behaviors, and support return to learning.

Provide individual and group support to students and parents to prevent, address, and resolve behavioral issues.
-
Actively participate in behavior intervention meetings and professional development.

Collect data, record anecdotal progress notes, and maintain behavior charting data as required.

Observe students and identify needed services to plan and deliver prevention activities.
-
Utilize district-approved behavior management and de-escalation techniques (e.g., talking through problems, teaching coping skills, applying CPI strategies).

Perform physical assistance and intervention, when appropriate, to ensure student and staff safety in accordance with CPI guidelines.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
